MAGPIE MELODIES: I'm delighted to be taking part in this special event run by Shieldfield Artworks (SAW) celebrating community creativity and folk music in the North East. I'll be performing with Bronwen Davies-Jones and the songwriting group "Songs of Solidarity & Strength" showcasing original music written out of everyday life in Shieldfield, Newcastle. Bronwen and I will also bring some material from our Howay The Lasses set and my recent pilgrimage project. We'll also hear from local community singing group "Mariners and Marras".
